Summary <> Purpose <> Guidelines <> Contact SummaryThe Lend-a-Hand Committee works with individuals and families to help them through bad times. In addition to financial assistance, the Lend-a-Hand consultants may assist with budgeting and emotional and spiritual counseling. In the 2003-2004 ministry year over $91,000 was disbursed to assist Lend-a-Hand clients! The Lend-a-Hand Committee meets at 9:15 a.m. on the first Thursday of the month at the Lewes Presbyterian Church. LRAC pastors attend the meeting on a rotating basis. Committee members are selected by pastors of the member Churches. PurposeAs a Christian organization, the purpose of Lend-a-Hand is to assist families or individuals in the Cape Henlopen School District who are in danger of becoming homeless. The Lend-a-Hand Committee aims to assist these clients to become self-sufficient by providing them with spiritual and material assistance. GuidelinesThese are among the guidelines which direct the Lend-a-Hand Committee.
ReferralPersons interested in receiving assistance through Lend-a-Hand must be referred either by a member Church or by the State of Delaware's Social Services. |
