The Association's Donations Committee evaluated and chose to support the
following organizations in the 2003 ministry year (in order from largest to
smallest contribution):
The total amount donated for the 2003-2004 ministry year was in excess of
$190,000! The Association thanks all the volunteers of the
New Life Thrift Shop and all
churches, individuals, and organizations which contributed to help make these
exciting grants on behalf of others in need.

The Way Home |

A program designed to help ex-offenders make a successful
transition from Sussex Correctional Institution into the community.
v
The goal is to reduce the rate of recidivism and to help
these persons become productive members of the community.

Westside New Beginnings |

A community center which serves young and old alike in
West Rehoboth, one of the poorest communities in the state.

The center assists efforts to overcome drugs, crime and
blight that cripple the area.

After school mentoring, summer educational and
recreational sessions, field trips, community cleanup drives and other
activities are parts of their program.

Enriching the lives of low-income parents and children for
34 years.

Between 40 and 45 children, ages 1 to 10 receive breakfast
and a hot lunch every day.

Most children receive financial support from the state.

Qualified caregivers lovingly provide the care and
educational programs.

A faith based, non-denominational provider of services to
Hispanic immigrants and others residing in Sussex County.

Most, because of language, cultural or economic barriers,
are limited in their access to existing services.

Delivers two meals a day to area homebound residents who
are sixty years or older.

Many seniors are able to continue living in their own
homes reducing the need for placement in long term care facilities.

through services to low and very low-income persons including:

equity” hours of labor, Habitat builds modest homes for families who
could not otherwise afford to purchase a house.

Building materials are frequently donated, volunteers
provide the labor, and the new homeowner is provided with an interest
free mortgage which they can afford.

prenatal care and other services.

Football and Spirit Leading

Provides an opportunity for boys and girls ages 5 to 16 to
become involved in football and spirit (cheer) leading.

Some children go on to participate in school-sponsored
sports but for those who do not, Pop Warner provides participation at
any level.

Scholarships are available to those who are unable to pay
the admission fee.
